I was looking online for a bird to recue but I can't find anything available in my area... But of course my search strayed and I ended up on a breeders site and they have a baby alexandrine for sale. What are the differences between them and IRNs?

Many differences but mostly size. The Alex's are bigger. Also, in my opinion, they arent 'colored as pretty' as a ringneck. For example, they could have an odd red spot somewhere, for example. They arent as vivid in color, more of a matte color.

Alexandrines are a lot bigger in size and have an intimidating beak, but they are gentle giants. They make amazing pets.
I haven't had one myself, but i know a lot of people with them and they are very sweet birds.

I don't like pet stores much but there is one I visit in fountain gate sometimes and the girls there in the store both bring their Alex's to work. I love to hold and play with them.

Just like Jeremy says when tame they are real gentle giants. Remind me alot of an ecclectus in many ways. adorable. Would take one in a heart beat if hubby would permit and I actually had the room.

The scale looks about right to me. Alexandrines as a rule arent as feisty as IRNs can be.

do the mustaches behave like IRN's?

The two mustache parakeets I know are the sweetest birds, they can bite rather hard not as bad as an irn. They make some cool sounds and are rather friendly and inquisitive, a bit shy at first but they warm up quickly.

This is just my personal experience with them and I only know two, they are a friends and well taken care of. They live in a house with two kids (older in there early teens) and a rescued very traumatized and loud u2. they seam to be fine with it they love to hang out outside and bask in the sun.

I just got an e-mail from the breeder. Shes 3 1/2 months very gentle and affectionate and supposedly just started saying "Hi" yesterday. They can talk that quick? The pictures are just adorable though. I'll post them when I have an extra minute. I pretty much made up my mind already lol She's still being hand fed though. So I'm gonna have to wait a bit
