Hi there,

Friday, Kokkewiet and my mother-in-law's IRN "played" outside and then all of a sudden, my mother-in-law's IRN danced the male dance infront of Kokkewiet.

Now I would like to know, does this mean my mother-in-law's IRN thinks Kokkewiet is a female or is she really a female?

Differences between these 2 birds;

Kokkewiet: full blown green
M-I-L IRN: light green

Both are 11 months old.

Kokkewiet: thin toes
M-I-L IRN: thick toes or larger toes

Kokkewiet: Very nice posture and the feathers are well kept together.
M-I-L IRN: scruffy feathers

Kokkewiet is smaller than my mother-in-law's IRN.

Can anyone please give me advice because my mother-in-law wants them to breed :shock:

Another question; will my Kokkewiet breed because she is very tame and my mother-in-law's IRN is not so tame, very rude bird. I have a grey IRN as well, and it is a she, and she is not tame at all. Now can my mother-in-law's IRN and my grey IRN breed together?

THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE!!!! :D

Please give me some advise!!!

Kokkewiet If you want to breed your IRN to In-laws then you will lose them as pets. If two of them are not tame then wait till there 2 years old and then put them together and do not seperate them. I have heard that you can use pet IRN's for breeding but I think it's best that you don't. In my opinion there either pets or breeders. Any color can breed with a different color thats how we get all the different mutations. Hope this helps alittle. Donna

I tend to agree. They are equally as happy as either but shouldnt be both unless under special circumstances, ofcourse.
