Different Coloured Eyes

Hi Everyone!

My partner and I have recently noticed that Aussie seems to have 2 different coloured eyes?

Around the pupil, one seems to be brown, and the other seems to be a blue.... Is this normal? We are worried that maybe he may be blind in one eye? Before taking him to the vet, I just wanted to get everyones opinion first....

All help is greatly appreciated!

Nope...Everything is fine;)

That's a normal Ringneck eye.

mmmm, Is my Ringneck ok??
her pupils are black (obviously), then she has the blue around that.. Sometimes her eyes around the blue (where its white) is a bit red (bloodshot almost).. Is this something to be worried about?

Last night when I got home, I picked her up and her breathing was a little wierd.. She has been sneezing a bit lately also - so I am taking her to the vet today.

What do you think about the eyes tho?

Tweets, I think it's a good decision to take your bird to the vet. That eye-color sounds pretty unusual, and with the breathing, I think it's better off taking her to the veterinarian.

I took sky to the vet yesterday.
She was starting to get an upper respiratory tract infection/cold. It wasn't anything serious, but could have become more serious had the problem not been treated. The doc gave me medicine to put in her water.. Sky doesnt drink much water during the day - how can I get her to drink more?

The doc said that she obviously got sick coz of the feather plucking. His thoughts were that she has reached sexual maturity.. so her hormones have gone nuts! The doc also put some anti lice drops in her neck (just in case)..

After 10 days of the medicine he gave her, I must start spraying her with Detol-water.. This will make her feathers taste bitter and she should hopefully stop plucking and over preening..
At least he didnt suggest puting a collar on her! WHEW!!!

What do you guys think??

I'm glad to hear it wasn't serious, and that your bird didn't have to wear a collar!

About the Detol, is that safe? I have never used it on birds but I wouldn't know.

Those hormones are a huge problem! Kiki is always overreactive during the breeding season, and she regurgitates her food as well!

The doc suggested the detol.. so who am I to argue I guess.. lol..
Its a disinfectant, so I suppose the feathers that she pulls out, it will disinfect it and she wont get infections. She is still tiny, so I dont know how im supposed to spray her below the head..
Surely she will close her eyes when I spray her?
