Rascal is looking a bit scruffy because he is molting.

This is Rascals play station we built for him. He loves it. It only cost $30 to make!

Image

He thinks he is the king! He sits there and screeches as loud as he can.

Image

I just stuck a big branch on top of his cage and tied it down with zip ties and he loves it.

This is him on his play station.

My scruffy little boy, poor guy! I can't wait until he is done his molt. I gave him a bath but he still looks pretty bad.

Image

I just stuck a little cuttlebone ledge on the side of the cage for him.

God that is almost just like Baby's stand!

He too is molting and I had hoped he was at his worse. Thank you for sharing these pics or I would have freaked as Baby got became progressively worn looking.

Please dont get me wrong, I tend to be so straight out that Im read wrong:

Your baby is handsome, molt or not. But they usually look so impecable! So a molt freaks with my head.

Im one of those beak and feather worriers, dont worry about much else bird related.

Aww I love him! My Baby is looking all rugged right now as well...although he is only like 5 months and molting!

Should have checked out this before I posted the question in the other forum. So you made the playstand yourself. That makes it doubly cool.

Rascal is so cute. And I am so relieved that everyone's bird is moulting.

My Nila lost about a bizillion feathers today and I was freaking out and ready for another trip to the vet. I did notice he's got some pin feathers coming around his neck. So hopefully that means he's lost enough already and will start replacing.

Rascal is GORGEOUS, moult or no! What a stunning bird you have. And what a fun playstand. If only I was that creative and talented. I'd have a lot more cash in my account! Teehee.

Thanks everyone!
Im glad you guys like pictures.

Mikaela - did you build baby's stand or buy it? I can't wait until he's done his molt. I worry too about the same things, LOL. Do you have pic of Baby molting? Rascal is looking pretty rough today, poor guy!

It's scary at first when they start to molt. You really don't know what to expect when you first see these feathers falling off. Im glad I read about molting or I would have been totally freaked out. And running to the vets.

Well Im starting too see some pin feathers poking threw on his head, does that mean he is almost done? They look so uncomfortable.

When Rascal is done this molt will I start to see his black band?
