Me & Big Bird

I have a 4-mo-old solid yellow male (I believe) who I have named "Big Bird" after ahemm you know who.
Currently trying to teach Big Bird to accept petting & am using the book by Mattie Sue Athan "Guide to a Well-Behaved Parrot." Currently, Big Bird will only accept gentle head/neck petting when he is tired & ready for bed.

Otherwise it is "HANDS OFF!"
He does live to sit on my shoulder, sit on my head & groom my hair, visit my other birds by walking on their cages, & look out the window on his window perch.[/u]

Thanks for the warning Julie. Big Bird has just started to allow me to pet him a bit. He let me pet his head & neck/cheecks this evening & then promptly went to sleep on my shoulder.
He has never indicated any threat of wanting to bite my face; however, he does like to go after any earrings that I may be wearing & bit on my fingernails if I am wearing a red type polish. Today I changed to a neutral color so he wouldn't notice them so much.
But generally we are making very nice progress I think. At what age are they considered juveniles (delinquents

) and then adults? And how do I post a picture?

Here is how to post images. I use photobucket, personally.
Images can indeed be shown in your posts. However, there is no facility at present for uploading images directly to this board. Therefore you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g.
http://www.some-unknown-place.net/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor to images stored behind authentication mechanisms such as Hotmail or Yahoo mailboxes, password-protected sites, etc. To display the image use either the BBCode [img] tag or appropriate HTML (if allowed).
A: Upload to photobucket
B: Copy/paste the [IMG] link into this box.

Boom, your baby will be here. Mess with it. If you screw up, no biggie. I will fix everything.
