Leno likes to stay at his cage..is it because we just got him? or because he thinks his cage is home?

The answer is "c" bothof the above. If he hasn't already he will
definitely think of it as "HIS" home and but he gets more comfortable
with being handled he'll seek out your attention and enjoy his time away from his cage.

its pretty scary for them at first.I could just imagine what it would be like for them they would be able to hear noises coming from other rooms, phones ringing, dogs barking people knocking on doors ect,but all they see is what is happening in that room. Indie takes a while to adjust when i take him outside in his cage,he is very quiet and then after about half an hour he doesnt shut up (made the little old lady next door think she was crazy) maybe try moving the cage to another room as well so he gets to see whats going on.

Leno will venture out when he feels secure. Soon he will realize he is safe outside and inside the cage and will be begging to come out. You can try to offer him treats outside the cage. Leave the treats out so he can see them, maybe close by the cage.

Some birds take longer then others to adjust. I had a cockatiel that was petrified of coming out but I kept being persistent in leaving the cage door open, offering him treats. It took him about 2 weeks to feel secure enough to come out. My IRN, Rascal is bold as can be and flew out immediately.

Leno just needs some time to adjust.
