Hello I just got my IRN 3 days ago. He already knows step up..Or it seems I was wondering about these questions
1. How long to keep him in his cage?
2. When I try to pet him, he trys to bite me, I dont pull away but how do i make him stop or how do I make him like me?
3. Any other tips?
Btw the IRN's name is Leno and My name is Tim
Need a little Help

1. As little as possible. I would suggest whenever you're home, have your irn out with you (invest in a play gym!)
2. Spend as much time with him as possible. He'll bond eventually. Have lots of patience!
3. There are LOTS of delicous tips all over this site, so read up!
It's great to have you here Tim!! Try to give Leno a lil rub on the neck for me!!

One thing you need to realize is that not all birds like to be pet. Some may like it, but don't realize it, and some just can't stand it. It's really no different than humans when it comes to invading space. I have a personal bubble that only certain people I know can invade...otherwise, back-off, heh.
I have one IRN that LOVES to be pet, and my other IRN wants NOTHING to do with those hands near him except to step-up on.
Let the bird get used to you, handle him tons, and he'll hopefully come around to wanting to be pet and loved on as much as you want to do it.
