When my grey and my IRN are out together Summer (the IRN) of course wants to take whatever big bird (grey) has, and vice-versa. I have noticed that preceeding this steath act of thievery summer will lower her head, slightly fluffing the feathers on her head and the back of her neck...is this agressive posturing? I don't want anyone to get hurt!
So far, they seem to be doing well together-they steal paper towels from each other and such but big bird is obviously MUCH larger than Summer and she may feel threatened purely by his size.
The past two nights Summer, the new baby olive, and big bird have all been out together and they seem to be fine...except for this posturing. Any thoughts on what she is trying to say???

Thats what Baby does to warn me of an inpending bite so I would have to say yes... absolutely. He is then in a trance like state.
I have to talk to him and 'talk him out of it'. When he relaxes his feathers, then he isnt ready to lundge and over whatever is pissing him off. Also, when they are in this state they tend (if talkers) to say a particular phrase over and over. Baby says 'Come on girl' when in this state.
Jen and I both have very aggressive ringnecks so we can tell you all about a pissed bird.

lol aww I pictured her saying that and thinking, "Come on girl, I can take you! Come on girl!" and so on.
