Dehydrated vs. Fresh..

This may come off as a stupid question to somoe, so bare with me please.
Do dehydrated fruit and veggies have the same nutrition as fresh fruit and veggies?
I am wondering because dehydrated will obviously last longer than fresh, doesn't have to be refrigerated, and in the long run will cost less.
Just curious! Thanks!

me again...the short answer is dried foods have greater concentration of sugars. The processing breaks down a lot of the complex carbs (the good carbs) and turns them in to simple carbs (sugar-or-bad carbs). This would be a problem for high starch, hi sugar foods; examples would be: corn, peas, all fruits. Fresh vegetable are going to have a better, more digestable suite of nutrients. Save dehydrated and dried as your stock for emergencies...like you are out of pellet, your fridge is devoid of anything but jelly and pickles and it is pouring golfballs outside!

The fresher it is better it is. Also if the food is like a "Soup Mix" like you put it in warm water to make it soft again or something like that, just remember anytime you cook something in water, for you or your bird, all the water soluble nutrients get relesed into the water like vitamin c. The longer you cook it in water the worse it gets. Stir fry is a way to cook with limited nutrition loss.

People who say IRNs are not good pets don't have one. If we were as cute as they are, we could get away with being bratty sometimes too. I think IRNs have really cute little voices. There is something wrong with anyone who don't fall hopelessly in love with a IRN....Hope I haven't been too outspoken on this
