Broken tail

My IRN has broken his tail feather...what can I do? It seems painful when I touch it.

Hi Susan,
I would recommend just leaving it alone. I read in a Bird Talk magazine that pulling a feather off of your bird is like pulling our hair out. The article said the bird will deal with it and just to leave it alone. So that's what I do. But I'm by far no expert!

If the bird kind of growls at you when you thouch the tail feathers it just means that the bird doesn't want you doing that! Most birds are sensitive about those feathers being touched

kiki had a broken feather and I was adviced to cut it at the break but i didnt want to upset her so i left it and it dropped off when she was on her gym.Saved me being the bad mummy.lol
