Sorry for the urgency but I'm nearly out of my mind with worry. I came home tonight and i've noticed that Chook's got some light brown feathers. I haven't noticed them before today for some reason. I don't know if it was the light or what, but they are a tan colour. I'm really scared. Can someone tell me whether i should be in the panic i'm in and should i get him to the vet asap or whether its okay.
I just don't know what to do. I'm so scared its a disease he's got. He seems fine otherwise, just these feathers. Please help me.
I have no idea about this kind of thing and I hope jeremy is along soon to put your mind at eas.
Maybe you should post on the breeding section or send him a pm.
In the meantime, I would say its a throw back colour mutation or some such thing, take a deep breath and for now, concentrate on getting a picture for Jeremy to take a good look at.
*hugs*

Baby had a little of that going on when she was insistant not to let go of her seeds and wasnt eating properly.
All she would eat was seed until she was about 3 months old. Hellava time getting her to eat people food (scared of it) or pellets (just didnt dig them).
I had another look in better light this morning and it doesn't look as bad as it did when i came home last night. The feathers have like a golden tinge to them on his wings. He eats properly - well won't eat pellets, but has a varied diet full of fruit and veg and he does love seed too. Maybe its normal and i just didn't know because its adult feathers? He is acting perfectly fine, not anything unusual in his behaviour and he still has his appetite.....Maybe i'm overreacting....
I can't seem to capture the colour on camera. I'll keep trying to get a pic to show you. I don't think its blood and the toys he has are the same he's always had in his cage. It looks like its actually the feather colour. I'll keep trying with the pics for you. Thanks for the help with this.
