At two years old the males start getting their ring. Sucks to wait that long but at least it happens right? All my sunnies have to be DNA'd cos there is no way to tell

no way to tell with lovies either (lovebirds) ..

.. but my two IRN's have shown definate male behaviour pre ring .. this doesn't always happen, but like in my case, there are times when you can see, by behaviour, that they are defienately boy or girl.
This is a vid of my Kai .. displaying typical male behaviour.. arching of the head , pinning the eyes, wobbling the head, hoping along his perch etc.

Jordan exhibits the same male behaviour (age 9 months) and they actually have little dance off together now.. its so cute.. the I am more male than you thing. (kai is 19 months)

hiya sqeeki1 .. the pics are a little small to be able to tell anything really.. but even so .. its still possible for a ring to come in even though your baby is over 24 months old. Now if you said it were 3 plus we might suggest that its a female.
You can have a DNA test done. Or watch for more definate male or female behavoiur. We all hate the waiting game.
I am sure no matter what you love this baby anyway.

would rock if you could post larger pics
Cheers !
I got to vote for female.

I got to vote for female; although 24 months would be only be one molt so the fid would only have juvenile feathering but still as far as I remember my liitle guy showed a ring by then.
