hello (new owner of a Indian Ring Neck Parrot )

Hello am glad to be a new member,...also i just bought a indian ring neck the lady i bought him off of said he is around 2 or 3 is it to late to teach him to talk and how can u tell the sex on them?she said if it had a black ring on the neck it is a boy and this one is now just getting black ring it is white right now ....she was told it was a female but now she thinks it is a male but any ways can u all help me learn about them....what should i know about them and how do i tame him she said he was hand tame but she didn't have time for him cause she got pregnant and had her baby and just never had time for him so he is sort of untame now...is it to late to untame him? as much help as u guys can give me will be muchly appreated thanks oh his name is kiwi

Hello, welcome! Usually i'm not the greeter (Jen - you're getting slack here!!!) but anyway....

If your little one is about 2 or 3, then she should have a ring by now. If she is definitely that age, then i would safely say that she is a she. I personally think its never to late for them to pick up words and whistles and other noises but it is a little harder to train them to be comfortable with you if they haven't had a lot of human contact before.

Hello and welcome to u and ur new baby. You definatly have ur work cut out for u . Irn's espcially untamed adults can be difficult. You will need to take things slowly. Have a look at some of the old postings they are bulging with info. Nataliexxxx :)
