Hi my name is Christy. I am looking for all the information on IRN's that I can find. Thank goodness to have found a forum only for the psittacula_lovers. Hope to get to know you all.
I am currently owned by a
Quaker Parrot named Piper
A Green cheek conure named Pandora
4 zebra finches and 1 society finch.
I am impatiently awaiting on 2 baby IRN's that are being hand raised now by a wonderful lady. They should be ready sometime around the end of May first of June.
They came from different clutches and are a few days apart in age.
Here are some pics. Can anyone look at these pin feathers and give me an idea of what color they would be considered ?
This is Pashi

And this is Peyton or Peekaboo. We havent decided which yet. LOL

I am pretty sure your second one is an albino...since you have the red eyes. Prinny, my albino, does have a noticable 'blue' tinge to her feathers...and your first one looks like a turquious...but that's just my opinion

Wow! Pretty babies you got there! I would venture to guess that the first one is a blue and it seems to have whitish-tipped tail feathers typical of most blue babies. It could still be a Turquoiseblue.

I think the second picture is a Blue Cinnamon. Cinnamons have darkred eyes. It has some bluish feathers in the back and I believe it is starting to grow yellowish wash on the wing feathers as well. So your baby could also be a Cinnamon Turquoiseblue. It would be interesting to watch how they mature. Please keep posting their pictures!

Ask the breeder what the parents are of your birds. If their information is accurate, it makes it easier to pinpoint their color mutation and in some cases you can actually determine their gender especially with sex-linked mutations like Cinnamons. If you plan to breed them in the future, it would be to your benefit to know their lineage.
