we don't go on holidays!! Try a friend who can birdie sit. Get them use to your IRN, feeding, handling etc. Hubby is going away with the kids for an overnighter, I'm not going 'cos of the girls. Yeh right...I just want a break from them heehee

To tell u the truth with the ringneck that I have now that is not tammed I have been on hols and my parents were feeding him and took care of him for a week.
The baby that I will get soon is that I am worried about. Is he going to be able to stay with my parents? :?:

I have always traveled with the Bebe and he is a great companion and travels well. However, there are certain times he isn't going to get to go with me. Though I haven't yet done this and it'll kill me to do it, I intend to bring him, his cage and foodies to our Vet who will birdsit for a nominal fee (~$25/day). I've seen several birds who have been in on this and I'd swear they enjoy the change of scenery.
My Vet sets up the cage out of the way but near the action of the office and the Vet staff feeds, covers, carries out instructions and are not the least bit intimidated by animals. It is a great service especially for one or two birds. So I'll recommend that you travel with your bird but if you can't then use a Vet service if available. IMHO, as a last resort I'd ask a friend or relative to petsit.

My hubby and I are planning a weekend away together. Our boys being teenagers (15 & 16) can now fend for themselves now, however I am worried about my baby. So it won't be a cosy weekend for 2, cos baby is coming with us.
