Courting

We have an 18 month old male, we got him a "girlfriend" a few months ago, who seems to hate him and all other ringnecks. She's now almost 6 months old and the only time they interact well is when Nila courts her, she gets into mating stance and clucks at him. It's not breeding season (aus).
Is this normal practising behaviour at these ages?
They are house pets, caged separately, but have a lot of out of cage time together. She mostly chases him around, but he has started courting her on a daily basis and feeding her. He has also been flying at her and growling over the past few days, which doesn't seem to elicit a response at all
They get about 12 hours sleep at night, bedtime is 8pm and Nila usually wants to be uncovered at about 8:15 am at present.
Any advice on whether this is normal in young birds would be welcome!
Also, if anyone has any ideas on socialising the younger bird so she likes other birds? She was parent raised and weaned when we got her at 3 months old.
Regards,
Claire
