Two new Male Ring Necks

afternoon all,
a week ago i brought two Male ring necks, one is 5 months and the other is 7 months. I understand they are still young and will take time, but any advice on how i can get them used to me, Even if i just walk into the room they move to the back of the cage.
I spend time with them everyday talking to them. offering them a slice of apple. But nothing. Will they just bond together rather than with me and be afraid all the time?
So far the older has not made a sound and the younger, every now and again a squawk. (he started yesterday)
Of course i dont want them to grow up still being afraid of me and ever get them to come to me or even speak.
any help or advice please?
