Hi all
Had a query from one of the forum watchers. Can anyone please post a pic of a Green Opaline Pied. I'm no use, I don't have pieds.

I don't have Opaline, but a starting point could be a Green Dominant pied Cock I breed in 2012.

Prodigy, Jurgen has that bird labeled as a dominant pied in Facebook. And it looks like one too. Did he say it is something else?

That picture of the green dominant pied Mature cock looked great. If my 2012 green dominant pied matures like him I will be very happy.
Attached is a picture of his parents and there 2012 and 2013 nests.

I guess everyone is asking in hope that they have Opaline in their Pieds.
We can all dream but this is so easy to answer
From a Harlequin Opaline male you should breed Opaline hens with & without pieds.
When you breed one Opaline hen then you have confirmation of the pied being Opaline.
Accept the fact that Harlequins have a head same as Opaline
If Opalines were in abundance and would cost $50ea no one would say my pied might have opalines.
so we can see why we think like this
All i'm saying Phenotype is not the way to identify but breeding results !
Hope we can see some Opalines bred from pieds, it would be a nice bonus.
I keep an eye on pieds offspring too

How can you say that Ben when you haven't explored the alternate hypothesis that Opaline and Harlequin are just variants of the same mutation? Recio, Johan??

What is the phenotype of a Harlequin SL Edged?
Now whoever answers that adds valuable data everyone can use.
I paired up an SL Edged X Harlequin
unfortunately no pieds offspring this year.

Sorry not green opaline pied but blue opaline adm pied and grey turq opaline adm pied
To be opaline they must be hens, but it is from an opaline pied combination bred by a friend of mine.

Willy, I asked that exact same question!
And it turns out my opalines breed with a sex-linked recessive inheritance model. I do not have a harlequin though. Do you think we can confirm it as incomplete dominant from existing breeding results in Oz yet?

Tienie can you confirm that florescence on the birds or was a flash used to take the photo's ?
