After a ringneck bonds to you, they stay where you are. They arent like dogs that wonder around. They love being with the one they love so its really easy. You sit them somewhere, give them a kiss and tell um to be good!

I'd love to work in a pet store.. But I'd be so bad at it. I'd tell them all to go to breeders lol. Unless it's a really good and trustworthy store.

It is, I promise. I would never work anywhere that the animals were not the FIRST priority and thankfully I found a wonderful shop where this is the case.

I used to be the Manager of a Starbucks and it was great fun but I need to be around animals or children. I love my job and the fact that I can involve my babies is a great perk.

I worked for 10 years, and I worked two jobs while I had two babies a year apart. Creche, kinda and then stright into school, my two girls never had me home.

When I had my third, my son, we decided to forsake the extra's and my career (senior computer manager for a big 8 accountancy firm) so that I could be a stay at home mum and we survived ok.

I love every minute of being here for my kids and looking after my husband like a king. But it's time to go back out to the workforce, my youngest is 11 now.

I am starting to feel a little guilty, that I could be off the government payments and back out earning my own money. Although it was the government that made giving up our careers and having future tax payers so appealing in the first place (but thats a whole other beef  and not for this site) and it really affects other women more than me. I have kept up with my knowledge and know I will not have any trouble finding work.

The thing is, what about my birds, what about my kids, they do still love having me here at home with everthing clean and ready when they get home from school. When I work things will be so different. ahh shhhh here I go stressing again.

I am in two minds about the whole thing, sad but excited aswell.

And what about all the volunteer work I do around the community, and the visiting some of the older people of the community that I do, that will probably have to stop aswell, they will be so sad.

I will have to give up helping out at the art society. sigh! ... ak .. anyway.

I would LOVE to do something like Chamon has, working at a pet store, or at the local vet. I want a job where I am not just sitting at a desk helping to make some company lots of money. I want something where I can be of some use to others .. you know.

Well what ever is heading my way, I simply have to trust in Gods plan for me.

Sorry about the rant.. I just had to get that out.

Nice just to have you guys here to offload with.

Thanks *kisses*

I am a people person, cant be held back behind a desk... I just gotta be in the thick of it. Hopefully next year I will start my teaching degree and become a primary teacher. The only reason Im not there already is that James is at Uni so we live on my income alone and cant afford to lose it (well we could but I will NOT give up my children, not any of them!)

My big life goal is to set myself up on a lifestyle block, build some aviaries and breed large parrots, not for the money, not for anyone but myself, I love raising birds and I feel like I can combine it with being a teacher and teach the kids how wonderful parrots can be. I have contracts for prospective new parronts and everything all set up. .... well i can always dream ....

My partner and I run a soil testing business from home. Most days I work in the office downstairs so of course atticus comes down with me, chewing everything in sight! If I leave her upstairs she screams until she's blue in the face (pardon the pun). At the moment she is sitting on my arm cleaning - her favourite position. Some days she's just a cranky little you-know-what so she has to go. When the phone rings she immediately starts screaming so then I have to evacuate.

I go out in the field 1 or 2 days a week and often wonder what she does. So the other morning I got up half an hour before the kids got her up and snuck downstairs without her knowing. We had the usual morning screaming session, but as soon as those kids left for school she was as quiet as - not a peep out of her until about 10am when I went upstairs. As soon as she knew I was here well that was the end of it, but I'm so glad she doesn't scream the place down when I'm not here!!!

Carrie, you and I are so lucky. Working from home is too good to be true.

The only way I was able to figure out how was to start my own business. I am in wealth management. I was a criminal defense attorney, hated it. Got married and threw in the 80 hr work week to care for his boys. I then got my real estate license and now tell rich people how to spend their money before Uncle Sam sees is.

OMG, I am a legal criminal. Never thought about it like that lol. But, you have to have a criminal mind to defend one. I miss the attack in the court room, I miss the rush you get when you win the rush you get when you dont. I miss the respect of the community most though, to be honest.

My husband HATES the way americans address people with education. He is old school. He HATES to hear 'Dr and Mr. Lovizio'. It rings in his ears like a gun shot. He could have a doctorate too. Go to school! Not that hard.

You know, they put Dr before your name on your license? Otherwise, I'd never think anything of it but when I get carded they are like Oh Dr. Wow and my husband is like  Upside is they dont stipulate what you have a doctorate in so everyone assumes a medical doctor so I get to park aaaaaanywhere. Huge advantage.

I'm an at home mum to three boys. The youngest is 4 and has mild autism so he can b a fulltime job himself. I have a nursing background but don't know if I'll go back. Also doing sports trainer with the local junior aussie rules footy club. Bhanu has a real carefactor attitude and is quite happy with toys , the radio and watching the fish across the room.

I'm a paralegal specialising in family law. A paralegal is a person who can do everything the same as a solicitor/lawyer, except is not admitted to practice law for themselves. I don't have the money and didn't get the opportunity to go to university (college) after school. Also, us poor paralegals don't earn anywhere near what a solicitor does!!
