Hi All
Last year i paired up a blue female with my lutino male and of the young i handraised i ended up with -
1/ lutino hen and
2/ Green cock's
These were checked with dna testing.
My question is this year, the same birds have paired again and i am currently raising 2 more green's - am i correct to assume that these are both cock's?
Cheers
Jono

Hi JonoH
Yes ,
The Cock babys will be Green/Ino/Blue (Green Bird)
The hen babys will be Ino/Blue (Lutino Bird)
If you get any other colour then the birds have other splits in them
Regards
Robert

I thought you could also get albino (white) from this pair?

Yep, you could if the Lutino is split for Blue- did he have a Blue series parent-? If yes, then he is definitely split Blue, if not then there is still a good chance of being split (for Blue) as a recessive gene can remain hidden until paired up with another copy of the same recessive gene.

Cheers Sheyd, still getting my head around all the Genetics stuff!
Not sure on the lutino heritage as he was a 'fly in' (lost bird given to us by someone whose house he flew into!
