My ringneck laid 3 eggs , 2 days before 1 hatched the male ringneck went missing ( which would feed the hen)I thought snake so I brought the hen and eggs inside, 2 days later 1 egg hatched the chick seem to be alright making noises and looked good , came home yesterday and realised there was no noise from the chick , had a little look I think it is dead , hen has 2 more eggs under her should I take chick out or will it disturb other 2 eggs as she doesn't want to move off it/ them ?

I have removed cock birds after the hen laid and had success with the hen alone. Once I had to remove the nestbox and
relocate it ( because of bees) and the pair lost interest and stopped breeding. I think your best chance is to remove the new chicks and let another hen with chicks help, or start hand feeding.
Hope you come right.

Called vet, removed baby chick... So sad... Crop was empty ? She still has the 2 eggs one with a small hole and other one looks ok..she is still laying on them....how long does it normally take for an egg to hatch ??
Also what's best material to use on cages to keep snakes out?

If the crop was empty then that would bear out what another has said, that she didn't feed it, unless it was not old enough to have eaten. Breeders, isn't it so that they are not fed for the first 24 hours? I'm no breeder, far from it, but I would think you need to assume you are hand feeding those chicks from the start or placing them with another mother hen who will. By the way, as an overprotective animal keeper, I would also make sure the hen is eating and not waiting for the male to come feed her.
Best wishes!

Yer she in still coming out to eat, 2 eggs still haven't hatched how long do you give it if u think they are no good. Baby chick was fine for 48hrs then died??? Now the egg which had a crack should have been here by now... My first egg was laid on 19th August and hatched on15th sept , another was laid 22nd & 25th of august but haven't hatched yet ??
