My indian ringneck is just over a year old now. He has a mirror in his cage which he spends ages looking at haha. He bobs his head a lot too but there's something else he does which is really peculiar.

He does these weird little chirps while he stretches himself, kneeling to one side and lifting his shoulders to his wings open a bit. While he's doing that, he beads his eyes. It's so funny to watch but would love to know what that means and if anyone elses parrot does that? He sorts of stretches and stands tall, lifting his head as much as he can. It's hard to explain lol but if someone elses parrot does this they will know what I mean.

He's a great talker now :)

He's showing his mirror what a stud he is.

Lol, typical Male behaviour. He is showing off. Seen as he doesnt have a partner (im assuming here) he sees that lovely bird in the mirror and decides well, as miss k says to show that bird what a stud he is... My male is caged with another male, and they show off for each other!

Oh haha ok then that makes sense. He stares at himself in the mirror for ages, he must love himself. Thank you both :P
