I got my Indian Ringneck today, she's 5 months old, and isn't too used to hands, etc (working on changing that), the thing is that it is now night time and every time I turn off the light she goes nuts in her cage, she doesn't make any vocal sounds, but just jumps around and flys around hitting the cage walls, etc. After I turned the light back on the last time she raced over to her apple and started eating it, she hadn't eaten much all day.
What could be the issue? Could she be afraid of the dark?

Re: Scared of the dark?
Hello and welcome
did you get your baby from a pet shop? She may be used to some light left on over night as most stores are never completely dark. You can try a small night light until she is used to her new surroundings. If she is from a pet shop she also lacks the sound of other birds near by and is probably very confused. Try a radio left on really low nearby until you go to bed yourself. Hope my advice was helpful. Good luck

I am owned by my birds...and I wouldn't have it any other way

Hey, thanks! Yeah, I did get her from the pet shop. I'll try your ideas, see if it works.
Thanks again!
