blue violet hen x lutino cockbird?

I can't figure it out on the calculator --- a friend of mine asked me if the result would be and I can't figure it out to save my life.
My gut says the match isn't worth while but can anyone point me in the right direction?

Yea, It's a bad combo, i stongly suggest a turquoise pallid (violet) to the lutino male.
Lutino X violet blue will breed
males:
greens & green violets split INO and split blue
Hens
all Lutino
50% masking violet split blue
(if male is split blue , just add the above in blue series )

Am I right in being told that males carry colour genes? This is what the breeder of my hen told me. She said the colour of the hen has no effect on the babies.

No, that is not accurate.
That is true for sex linked Recessive mutations like INO, Pallid, Opaline or cinnamon.
If the father does not carry the gene hen has (say INO) then hen's mutation will only be past to young males in splits (not visible).
However, Violet and other Dominant mutations like Grey & Cobalts etc are not sex dependant and regardless if you have a violet hen or male it will breed 50% violets in both sexes.
Can not have splits in a dominant mutation.
You can get dominant mutation being masked
example would be a grey violet= grey masking violet because violet color is not visible but present
INO (ino=Lutino, Albino) will also mask dominant mutations.

There are many reasons not to allow public into your breeding area, and breeders that don't let public in are perfectly fine and i have no problems with that.
Stealing & disturbance to the birds are just 2 obvious reasons.
Think about it.
If you were buying a house from someone that has many, is he under any obligation to show/disclose all of his properties to the buyer of 1 house?
Before you purchase a bird. ask questions ask anything and if you don't like the responses don't get the bird.

oh no its not because of that, she does not want people to see her overcrowded aviary. Her house is an absolute mess, the hen I got from her has significant problems- but I was determined to save her. Apparantley the RSPCA have been called several times, but couldn't inspect because she was never home. The breeder I got my cock from, was happy to give us a tour of his aviaries and show us the parent birds. If she was a proper breeder I can understand, but since her aviary is not that great, I would classify her as someone who thinks they are a breeder- a bird farmer.
