bent another blood feather :(

Bobby's managed to bend another feather this morning trying to take a piece of fruit up to his perch he dropped it, got a right stop on and attacked his toy, bent the feather. But he's subsequently managed to chew it off within an hour. There is no bleeding, but again we're in the same boat. There might be another trip to the vet's on the cards.
At this rate he won't be able to fly anywhere, he's down to no flight feathers on one side!
This I can see is going to be an issue.
as he's now lop sided
Poor thing, I wonder if it was irritating him because it was his last one anyway, now all he's got are the butchered feathers from his clip.
I feel for him. But now I need to know what to do? Should I leave him lop sided?

Are you sure he's not losing them to molting? My one tiel is clipped. 5 feathers only. When he molts he tends to lose the ones that aren't clipped first. Only other thing I can think if is his cage is too cluttered and there is not enough room for his wingspan.

Thanks for the reply. He has three hanging toys in it. But he'll flutter anywhere inside the cage and caught one on his toy as he was playing. It's a pretty big. Used to have a cockatoo in it and is four times the size as the one his previous owner had him in. I just think it's been some bad luck. As he's moulting too.
Defo a bent feather, when I first saw it, it was at a strange angle then the more he played with his toy and fluttered it fell off. There is blood in the end and it's def been chewed off. One other feather he lost yesterday is totally in tact. I've got a manager around from the local bird charity here doing a home check on us tomorrow. I'll ask her opinion on everything. She's more experience than me. Maybe she can point out what's gone wrong. He's just so narky everything he plays with is aggressive, then turns to mating or regurgitating his food over it. Poor mite. He's been in and out the cage all day playing. Eating, he never stops eating... that's for sure. All day long. Veggies, fruit, he chucks them on the floor then comes down after a while and retrieves them. So funny. If he didn't throw them out in the first place he'd be fine.
The vet said other than those feather issues which he pulled he's in great condition considering he's been weaned off his sunflower diet.
Will keep you posted, and see if he does indeed need another vet visit.

I can't post pictures. Don't know why, says board quota is full.
The feather has gone now. He's eating well, seems okay apart from he's now not scared of me and when I try and get him back in his cage he's taken to trying to nip me.
Someone has advised me to move his top perch down a little if he likes to flap in the cage. I can try that. But I guess it's too late really. Seems to have only been the one side he's bent the other is fine.
Will keep you posted.
