I found a crested pigeon baby on the ground has most of its fluff and feathers, I'm thinking of handing it into the RSPCA but I don't want them to put it down. I know it's a pigeon but everything deserves a chance, anyone in the Ipswich, Australia area that could take the little guy...

The rspca would refer the bird to a wildlife organisation, I doubt they are allowed to put it down.
But might be better to try calling these guys http://barn.org.au/tempsite/

My boyfriend and I were watching crested pigeons on the lawn a couple hours ago and wishing we had a rescued baby one to raise until its ready for release! We aren't wildlife carers, otherwise we would love to help.

Would you like to come pick this little guy up and raise him? I trust bird pet owners more than anyone else to know they won't kill the poor thing..


Just anyone to pick this guy up, i have nothing to help him, i don't even know what to feed him (Prob starving!) Found him/her in wet grass with these sticky things over it.

A wild life rescue organisation are much better suited to a pigeon then we are. If you can't get hold of anyone from barn.org.au you could drop him off a local emergency vet. They will look after him until they can get a carer for him.

Seriously, I know some wildlife carers in the sunshine coast (where I live) and they are completely dedicated to saving even a humble pigeon! They are out at all hours picking up any animal in need.
