Hello, i am new to your forum, excited to learn about our Charlie's behaviors :D , I have many questions s to how she communicates and would like to learn more about her,

Our ringneck makes a very distinct sound, almost like a hissing sound, this happens when i kiss her and talk to her, her eyes pin at the same time she is hissing, she does not have any aggressive behavior while doing this. what could this possibly mean? :)

Please any thoughts,

Best regards,

Cindy

Hi Cindy.

Welcome. :)

I'm not certain, because I usually associate hissing with aggression / fear response. Could it be excitement?

Ellie.

Hello Ellie,

I am still trying to figure the site, and how it works, thank you for responding.
:D Charlie is very sweet, to never have owned a bird before I think she is amazing, would not have it any other way, when she hisses she does it in a very low tone, in fact when she first started a while back I in fact thought something was wrong with her, i was so paranoid, now getting to know her better, do u happen to know what are some signs of who she has chosen as her care taker?

She truly is my husbands bird but i fell in love with her, she is amazing, now if we both are in the living-room, she comes to me for treats. But then flies to his shoulder, i dedicate more time to her since she was a baby, she does get excited when i get home from work and goes crazy moving her entire little body from left to right back and forth,

Can u share some of your experiences please?

Thank you :)
