Hi all

This is my first post here :) after much deliberation (nearly 6 months) i would like to purchase an indian ringneck. I have researched many parrots but feel RN will be the best suited to me.

However I have not been able to find any breeders and am wary of purchasing an untame and not hand reared from a pet shop. I live in london and would appreciate any help given with any advice.

Thankyou all and look forward to some replies.

Hi and welcome, I thinks its better you get a tame handraised ringneck, you need to have lots of patience and time for the untame ones.

I do know that there are breeders in the UK. Some beautiful mutations of IRNs are being bred there.

You might want to search through this avenue: http://www.theparrotsocietyuk.org/home

I hope you find your baby and welcome the forum. :)

Hi ibiem298,

I have recently (yesterday) purchased an healthy ringneck from an amateur breeder in East London, I can give you a contact in private if you want.

He has a lot of birds, he does not have youngs at the moment (I have bought the youngest one, 9 months old) but you might chat with him and see when they should come up, he also has some Alexandrine chicks... just in case.. :D
