Hi,
I use to have parakeets when I was younger but haven't had any birds for a long time. My kids wanted dogs and cats instead. My kids are raised and I decided I would like to have birds again, now that I don't have cats anymore.
I purchased a cockatiel last June, and am in love! His name is Martini and he is my new companion. We are almost inseperable when I let him out to play. I adopted a 2 yr old latino ring-necked parakeet a few months ago. He is not as friendly, he was not handled in the past, but was more of an ornament. He was living with an older couple and they did't know anything about birds. I think that was obvious since his name was Emily when we got him and he didn't really know his name. I need help with him. He's getting better with us but he is still afraid. I have the time and patience but not the know how.
One thing that is interesting about Rossi is that he loves meat, especially chicken, he know when we are cooking it.
I look forward to hearing all your comments and suggestions.
Sincerely,
Martini&Rossi's mom
