Hi All,

Yesterday i got a picture of Wild IRNs and Alexandrine flocking together in a window of a building. It seems the owner of the house keeps some food for them and they gather there daily. It is wonderful to see them.

Sorry for the photo quality as my camera is not that efficient for long distances.

Hi Ellie,

I had read an article in a leading newspaper of mumbai. There is a lady who handfeeds almost 20 wild IRNs daily from her window. She has also named them. There was also a picture attached of her feeding them, but i lost it.

Hi Subodh,

It doesn't matter; these are fantastic. Remember, they are not just flying around where we live, so very exciting. I see there seems to be a grey bird in the second photo on the far right. What's that?

The pictures have gone away.

I like pigeons too - might be the only one! I have their extremely close relatives, mourning doves, living wild near my house. I always have to explain to them every year that I don't want them raising babies on my patio.

Hi, So lovely those birds are! Picture is fine I can see them all clearly. How I wish I had wild ones flying around. A friend who is living an hours drive from me has wild ringnecks in her garden. We saw two green ones high up in a tree, but i'm not sure if they are ARNs or IRNs, since i'm in South Africa, don't know if we have wild IRNs flying around here.

I'm in Canada so we get lots of little songbirds, seagulls, doves and pigeons in the city but zero parrots.

What a pleasure it must be to watch them be silly in the wild. Are the wild parakeets curious about people or do they stay away?

Hi Puppy,

They normally stay away. But if food is involved and their trust is obtained, you can see what you are seeing in the pic above. And it is a very rare scenario.
