hi everyone my name is jenan, currently i am living in the middle east. last august i bought a female indian ring neck. i dont know how old she is but i couldnt leave her where she was. i was walking through a shopping district and saw her being mishandled violently while still in her cage. i went and made the shop keeper a deal and went home with her. over the past week i have noticed a sever change in her feathers. i have researched what could be many causes of it and i feel too over whelmed. i lost my job and cant get to a vet at the present time. i have to get her checked soon anyways as i amplanning to take her back to canada with me
i am saying this with tears in my eyes, this is the first bird i owned. i love her so much and i think she truly hates me. but i am sure over time i can get her over that. what is bothering me is her feathers. on the ends only of her tail and wings is some slight fraying. she flaps around alot while in her cage. through my research i heard about mites and how to look for them. i am sure it is not that as i took alot of bite wounds to check the feathers very thoroughly and also i covered her cage to see if any would show up on the cover and there are none present. now back to the fethers. she is losing alot. her breast area is started to bald and she has balding under her wings and around her legs. someone please kindly advice me and suggest what i can do. she eat a parrot mix of nuts and seeds containing corns and vitamin pellets in it. she will not eat anything else but lettuce. i have tried various fruits and other vegetables and she wont touch them. please someone help me
