Drumming rain and wing flapping :)

Prinny has been doing the cutest things. Here in NoCal (northen california) it is raining...HARD. I mean quarter sized drops on the windshield. Anyway I walk into the room where her cage is and I find my baby staring outside and flapping her wings hard. She then shook her head and dipped again and flapped. It was like she was pretending to bathe in the rain (yes she was doing her little bathing dance). Too cute! Wish I had a vid camera to show ya'll...maybe I will be able to get some pics. She is too cute.

Any other birds that pretend like this?

Indie has discovered the shower. When he hears the water running he goes nuts until you let him in to have a dip.

my irn sinbad and macaw bubba both just sit there at the edge and splash their bodies with their beeks.

in the summer when i water the lawn or wash the car or house windows, bubba likes to perch on the end of the hose nosle and splash it all over

and another weird fetish of his, he only bathes indoors if you vaccum in the living room where his cage is.

when he see's and hears the vaccum he goes streight to the water dish and starts doing the freakin macarena while he uses his beak to slpash water everywhere and does it non-stop till you stop vaccuming he really likes it for some reason or another :? :)

I've taken some of my big guys OUT into the rain, but they never enjoy it as much as they think they will ;)

LOL Mazziemom...I think Prinny would freak out. Not going to try that one...though when it gets better and sunnier I'm going to try taking her out to the park. I think she'd like that.

LOL, I don't try it with the little guys... though Mazzie would probably be in bird heaven.

We had a month long rain storm a few years ago and she was in constant bath mode. Wings always out and ready to dive in.

Dorky girl.

we very rarely get rain we have had a drought for a few years here and it generally dries up before it hits the ground or the ground is too hard for it to soak in.

How funny!

omg .. that sounds so cute.. I will have to take notice and look out for my birds doing that, now that I have moved them into their own bird room and they can actually see out to the back yard.

I too, would love to see vid of it if you can get it :D

made to feel so welcome, thanks.

I know what you mean Julie, ive only been a short while and i preety much figured out early on that you lot are down to earth, with a little twist, hehe. Just the way i like my human friends. On the subject of laughing i did plenty last night watching some of the vids on the video forum. Actually after reading some of the discussions i pretty much went through all of the emotions with some of the almost lost birds and sentimental messages from a certain 'angel' "who does like a natter" she knows who she is.
I just feel right at home, so i will be back. I mean i must have been on here 4 times already today. There is so much to read and look at. :P Any way take care, and thanks for the reply

Wow Dani, 305, i can only asspire to that. That makes me feel so much better, being a geek is actualy ok. In the last couple of decades the western world has come to terms with the fact that geekism is good. Thank heavens, i didnt think i was ever gona fit in!!! heheh. that was so a joke, I've spent most of my life striveing to be different and being quite happy in my own little world. Its ok tho cos they know me here. So continue with ur geekism and be proud love. This is a gr8 group, thats why we cant get enough. Take care, love Nat.

Ah Natalie it goes by so fast  It feels sometimes like I am still a newbie here lol. Yep 300+ posts wow of course I look at Mrs. Mikaela's with her 1500+ and I think Whoa. I'm sure we'll all get there eventually.

Hehehe this is our own little world, which is why I check so often. Yeah geekism has become more of a better thing. Say it loud and pround...I am a geek!

You guys are what makes this board what it is. More of a people and parrot family than a message board. I sit on here alot too, but I'm not funny ;P
In a world where your hardly know your neighbours anymore it's good to have a place to go to keep in touch with people.

I feel like i found a miliion freinds with the click of my mouse. Having this site to come to gives me more confidence with marley. And i mean that genuinly, i didnt realise how popular Irn's are.
You lot are the best, please dont ever leave.we make a pretty impressive flock of good natured, kind hearted people with a litlle bit of woohoo and a little bit of wayhay. With the most impressive babys.
I come on here the minute i get in and someone has always added something, it makes me smile to know u lot are never far away, regardless of the big pond between some of us. So keep it up, take care, love Natalie.xxx

We do get rid of any bad posts but I dont think there are many. Just the spam ones, not any legitimate post even if we happen to disagree, we all have a voice.
