Hi, everyone! I recently brought home a six month old IRN. I dont know its gender yet, but for now ill go with a he. S he isnt hand tamed, and I need advice on how to handtame him. I know that first I need to get his trust, but I cant seem to get him to like me. I bring him food and water and clean his cage regularly. I also bring him treats and fruits, which he takes from my hand. But whenever I bring my hand close to his cage, he tries to snap at my fingers. How can I get him to trust me?
Thanks

Try opening up his cage and waiting for him to come out then try using the step up instruction, you could also try using a spare perch to get him to step onto that then transfer to your finger until he is happy to forgo that step, not sure if that is a particularly recommended method?? But it works well for me with my not so tame budgie.
