Letting them kiss/preen...

Let me make sure I have this very right:

Because Baby and Chief live 2 feet apart every day of their lives for 8 months, it is perfectly safe for Baby to lick his tongue and preen him? Because if there was anything to catch, its here anyway.

Correct me if Im wrong.

Also, they do this weird thing that looks like they are licking eachother alot under the bottom beak. :?:

I have always let them play very closely but now that Baby has started the mating dance, they are constantly licking, kissing, preening and Im just concerned as to whether I can let them just enjoy themselves.

I feel blessed to watch. Honestly, I use to think it was wrong for birds to be in cages. So weird, one ends up being my best friend. Now that she is talking I feel even closer to her. She sounds so precious.

I will officially accept she is a he, although Im 90% sure now that Baby is a boy, when I see a ring.

I dont see the problem in letting them be friendly, as you said a disease would be there anyway, and most bird diseases are transferred in the poop. So as long as you keep the poop areas clean that shouldnt be a problem.

Just keep an eye on them and split them up if you notice anything weird.
Poop is the first sign of disease so learn about poop and keep an eye on poop and you should be right.

The only disease which I've heard of being beak to beak transmission is PDD. However, they know so little about PDD that it could just be a shot in the dark.

The only 'weird' thing I have noticed is it looks like they sometimes eat something out of the bottom of eachothers beak. Maybe they are just licking there.

do birds mix breeds(can you get irn x tiel) might sound stupid but is that also possible?

Nope, don't think you can get an IRN teil... genes are too far apart.

Course, now that I said that, it'll happen ;)

When you click on the movie link.. leave it and give it some time.. you will see in the bottom frame of the webpage it is downloading .. then it will say done and you will still wait a little while .. then you will get a strange page with play buttons and lines and such .. just click the play button and it will play.

Sorry I didn't find the original link I watched it on.
