Steve Irwin...

Hey Ya:ll:

I ran across the strangest piece of trivia last night while watching TV. Ok, I know all ya'll Aussies know Steve... lord have mercy that man in FINE. Always had a thing for Aussies. It is either because you all come from criminal decent lol (kidding) or the accent. But Im a sucker for an Aussie, always have been.

He is all tan and that pretty hair and all sweaty, shew Imma have to stop. *fans herself like a schoolgirl* If I ever got ahold of that sucker he would *think* he was fighting a croc hehe.

Er, Ok, to what I was trying to get to that is actually relevant. Ya'll are NEVER going to believe this but research it, its true. It seems that Steve will fight a gator like stroking a kitty cat *seeee my mind went to a bad girl place, huge crush on him  *. However, when he was a little boy, 6 I think they said, his Daddy's ringneck 'attacked' him and ever since he has a HUGE phobia of birds, parrots especially.

Now isnt that something how powerful our minds are? He will romance a croc but literally will not even look at a parrot and runs like a little girl if he sees one. That just kills me lol.

He probably thinks we are as brave and crazy as he is. At least he doesnt kiss his crocs, as we do our vicous beasts bwahaha. My big strong man is afraid of a little ol bird. HA!

Even that doesnt snuff out my crush *sigh*

Imma have to get me somma dat.

hehehe.. funny that .. Yeah steve's ok .. gotta love him.

But the bird thing, I have seen that in action. My daughters friend was attacked by chickens when she was younger and now has a massive phobia with any birds. She literally cringes into a ball and crys like a baby. Weird.. but its true.

 poor darlin. She needs a good therapist for that problem.

So Aussie women dont think he is particularly hot?

American girls sure do.

nya !! don't think he is hot. He's a bit of a yobbo. But then thats just my opinion and my girlfriends and their girlfriends.. lol .. He sure is a good showman though, he's a good bit of fun.

No he's not hot imo >.< but he cares about animals so thats a plus in my book. He doooes have an interesting face (as he says on commercials) but yeah thats as far as that goes.

Then I reckon it must not take much to entertain us American girls. :?

*bats at a ball of yarn*

Our speech or slang I mean is soooo different. But, I think I know ya'll enough now to be able to tell what your adjectives are. Like a yobbo is sort of a 'tool' or a silly person?

I guess it might be his passion that turns me on. That and we both act like we just speed-balled 24/7 Viiiin Viiin Viiiin -shrug- We are both spazes man!

Damn, shoulda kept my mouth shut, now I need a new 'vocal point'.

Theres an episode of his show (old now) where he's moving the zoo to a new location, and he goes into detail about his fear of parrots when they have to move the aviary.

Quite funny actually, and it was a cockatoo who tortured him. Theres a cockatoo in the aviary in love with his wife that he's just terrified of.

I know men like him though, really. We have a friend who will face down anything but a parrot, our birds scare the life out of him!

I must admit that I also have a secret love crush on steve. *sigh*

How many people in this world say that when they are rich they will give money to charity...100% of "croc hunter" goes to conservation, I have huge respect for him and his wife for this........imagine the temptation to just make the money for personal gain.

Hey, mikela at australia zoo you can buy mini steve dolls that say Crikey! lol very cute. I deliberately avoid their gift shop cause I know that I will come out very poor, and god knows hubby just wouldn't understand lol

Another piece of trivia, Bindi (spelling?) goes to the local public school with all of the other local kids....

Steve rocks!!!!!

I am beginning to realize many people are scared of birds. My husband will not go near Baby and says 'Mikaela, get your bird' if she goes to hang out near him.

He would NEVER admit to being afraid of her but he buys her stuff aaaaall the time yet never interacts with her.

He is a night owl, 12-3 am is typical for his bedtime. He admits that he enjoys Babys chatter and has complimented that it is now actual words he cannot deny as being words and not just chatter.

It spooks him when she copies my laugh though. It use to spooke me (and sometimes still does a little) but Im ok with it. Just sounds freaky. Like  sorta

Yobbo is more of a term of indearment.. lol .. Its a Patriotic Aussie that just bums around in whatever is comfortable, doesn't mind how they smell or look, just wants to enjoy the lucky country and hang with their mates, would jump of the sofa to help save ya life though and loves the fact that they are called a yobbo.

Really is more general than that. If ya have the aussie drawl/slang and can swear with the best of them, you could be classed a yobbo.

An Aussie yobbo definately wouldn't Gel their hair, spray on deo or say things like thankyou. They would scratch themselves down there , lick their hands and brush the hair away from their face and say - friggin awesome mate.

Not all aussie blokes are as passionate as our steve... lol

We love 'em. I guess Its a bit like your Larry the cable guy.

I want to go to Aussie so badly, more than anywhere else I have ever been. I just simply cannot tolerate an 18 hr plane ride. I would bounce off the walls. I would frigging go insane.

I get bored from here to the Bahama's. Hate cruises for the very same reason... cant come and go as you please. Once aboard, all aboard.

Hrm, think I have issue with control? lol

Not really of people but absolutely of my environment. If I cant control it I get uneasy.

When I flew to and from Florida :-

1 hour to sydney
13 hours across nothing but deep ocean
5 hours across your country

with a 1 hour drive to the airport, check in 2 hours prior to departure, 1 hour stop in Sydney and a 2 hours stop in San fran and a 1 hour car journey to the house in Florida, made it a total of 26 hours of travelling

reverse that flying via LAX for the trip home.

 but then I LOVE !!!!! every second of doing it on my own. No hubby , kids , nothing to do but enjoy the journey and everything new. Chatting to people, hostesses, hearing accents and all , shop when I want, eat when I want, sleep when I want , well you get the picture ... I would do it all the time if I had the money and they freedom to do so. Hubby was wonderful giving me a whole month like that, love him to bits.

Hi there! Our housing estate in Beerah actually borders 'The Australia Zoo', we can actually hear the elephants from our house. It's not unusual to see Steve or Terri around town & they are always friendly & give a big smile. He is SSSSSOOOOO cute in real life, much better than on the telly. :P

My partner manages a golf club, so he wears the 'khaki' shorts & shirt as a uniform just like Steve, it must turn Terri on....coz when she see's Mick she often gives him a big wave & a smile. But then again, Mick is a bit of a spunk.

There are huge billboards with Steve's hunky head everywhere around us, there's even one in the middle of Beerwah where he is just wearing his shirt & no pants.....let me tell ya, it's not too bad being welcomed home by his happy face every day. So, here's an Aussie girl who agrees, he is HOT.

Just wanted to share that with y'all.

Crikey!
