I just figured that I would pop on here and say hello!
I actually don't own any birds at the moment (Sad day) But I have babysat my Uncles lovebird when he has gone out of town for work for months at at time.
About 2 months ago I also found a baby bird, it was on the sidewalk while I was going home from the fish store (Only I would go to the fish store and come home with a bird!) It didn't have any feathers and it's eyes weren't even open, it had to have hatched that day. So, I naturally had to take it home with me and do what I could to save him(There were no nests in the trees around that I could see). I fed him every 20 minutes every daayyyy, that is NOT as easy as it sounds! But eventually his feathers started growing in and his eyes opened, it was amazing. Long story short, he grew up great and I let him back into the wild =) He was a little sparrow.
So, I do have expirance with birds and I think I'm ready for one of my own! I've done so much research, it's muucchhh harder to find a type of bird you want than I thought! At first I really liked Parrotlets, then Conures, and then I found Indian Ringnecks... and I feel like I'm in love! I'm still doing research and learning about training and handling behavior and such, but I really feel like I already own one =P
So, this is just my little hello! I will keep watching all of your lovely birds until I get one of my own =)

I'am sure that you are going to have a tremendous adventure, welcome to the bird keeping hobby. I suppose that you are going to get a baby(weaned of course ) and will need help taming it. I owned two IRNs before( Albino and blue mutation) before but had to let them go. So I am going to start from scratch with a 4 month old baby ringneck. Don't be afraid to ask as many questions as possible, from diet to cage bar spacings. A question is a question. What color mutation are you expecting to have by the way?

I am taking my time for sure! I'm very anxious, but this isn't something that I'm just letting myself jump in to. Google has been my BFF lately =P But I know for sure that I'm going to be asking a ton of questions here, it's very reassuring that I know a group of people who have personal experience with these birds.
After searching google for aggeeesssss, a girl from work told me about a woman who she is getting her quaker from (It's not even hatched yet! D'aawww!) So, I got the breeders website from her and have been looking through it, she seems awesome! Everyone seems to think she does great with her birds. That and she actually only lives about ten minutes away! I have yet to go visit, but that won't be too far away =) Her website didn't show that she had any ringnecks though, I emailed her last night asking about them and am just waiting for a reply back.

Yes! I would prefer to get a weaned baby! I would like to be able to have it young and to teach it myself. I was weary about getting a bird at first because of how long they can live. I went to my parents one night and was talking to my Mum about it, shockingly she told me to get one! She is the kind of woman who, if she doesn't agree, will let you know lol But she made a valid point that it's better for me to get a long-living bird while I'm young (I'm 22) and be able to have the time for it and raise it, rather than getting one when I'm older and having to worry about who it's going to go to when/if I'm no longer around to care for it.
I'm not entirely sure what color I want yet! I really love the blue and green the best I think =)

Thank you rednado103. I'am still in the research phase right now. My favourite color is the green mutation. Hopefully, I will have a green 4 months old male. I want a male because of the their lovely ring, it's awesome on green.

Well good luck, we have 3 new irons, got two from a breeder and waited 3 months to get them, one blue and one yellow, now my yellow is slightly a mean little bugger, he loves to lung at us and bite, so he only gets handled with a stick, I can pet him and scratch his head but not hold on my hand yet, he's about 7 months, the blue is such a sweetheart, then while getting wings and nails done the handler had a cute little green one so he or she is now in my home also and is the nicest of them all, the other two were tested and both males, I really hope greenie is a male also there neck colors are just stunning, but long story short what a treat you are in for with these birds, so cute and active and fairly quiet, when mine get going I have an African grey, he will say HEY, KNOCK IT OFF, and they do, it's awesome my bird is training my babies!! It's fun, you will love them! Just go slow and have lots of paitance with them!!!!
