Hi everyone, don't know if I'm in the right place for asking these-but here goes.

1-can you tell if a green irn is split with anything else just by looking at it?

2-how do you tell the sexes apart?
I thank you now and please excuse my stupidity,I'm still learning!

Nope, its not possible to visually determine genetics.
And...
Age is the key to sexing visually. If you have a bird over 2 the male should have a ring around its neck, the female none. That being said..
Albino's never develop a ring at all. And, some birds take longer than others to develop their rings.

If a bird is split it means they are masking the colour so it doesn't show. I know a few genetic experts who claim if a Green bird is pslit to Blue, you can see a blue tinge but i reckon thaat is crap
Males get their ring at 2 years of age (excluding Albino's, and ADM Pieds)
Behaviour can give you an idea but they can and will copy the other sex's behaviour
