Question about mating...

My question is about sun conures mating so I hope a bird breeder could answer this for me..
I have two sun conures, male and female, who live in the same cage. My male is about 7 years old and the female is about 1 and half. They are totally in love and always have to be together. But I am worried when my little female reaches breeding age, egg binding is a concern. How do I prevent this from happening? I never was planning on breeding them but if they are not together they go insane and scream nonstop for one another. Also, when would be the right time to introduce a nest box, if at all? I noticed that in their bed they've already started shredding peanut shells and making a thin layer across the bottom of the bed. I'm wondering if the female is already practicing nesting..

So not a breeder, here, thus I don't have any answer for your question.

That is a great question.. I would just have to learn more about what time of year they start trying to.. get busy. haha! I will look up those divided cages. I worry because they do everything together and have since day 1. They eat together, snuggle, preen and then squeeze into their happy hut for bed.. snuggled together.. we'll see how it goes I guess.
