Hello from Cali

Post by MidnyteStar »

I've had my IRN (Fox is his name) for about 9 years now, got him on my 20th Bday. He wasn't hand fed so I got to go through the fun of a couple bites. I had no idea when I got him they could talk so imaging my surprise and excitement when he talked to me the first time. Fox has the most awesome personality, he can drive you crazy and then turn around and do or say something that just makes you laugh. Oddly enough I can handle him just about any way I want and he will rarely try to bite me but my dad who when he enters the room Fox goes nuts trying to get my dads attention will bite my dad almost everyday. He will sit on my dads knee and be petted for hrs then turn around and take a chunk out of his finger. Hes such a character, I feel bad for my dad but he doesn't hold it against fox, thankfully lol. He's soon smart and my dad doesn't believe me when I say fox is plotting something but I can see it, he gets the same look a small child gets when they are about to do something they know they aren't supposed to. I do feel bad that I don't know more about him species wise, personality I know very well so I decided it was time to learn more about him so I can better handle the hurdle at hand and be better prepared for future ones.

IRN's certainly are characters and not a bird for the faint hearted! I hear so many people saying they do not make good pets because they can be aggressive but I call it "feisty" and I have to say that's what I love the most about them :)
