what would be an ideal nesting box for australia?

what should i use for a nesting box? a hollow log (cut down to size) or a large nesting box from the pet shop?

For ease of cleaning and inspection and aquiring it would have to be a nest box. I use a medium boot style now but have used boxes that are 300mm x 300mm by 600mm high as well, Ringnecks arent that fussy. What area are you in as you see them advertised on Petlink as well as most Pet shops should sell them as well but they are alot more expensive from Pet Shop.
