hello..I have an IRN...Her (his) name is Bobbers...she is 7 months old...I have had her since she was about 2 months old ..I constantly talk to her and repeat a lot of the words I would like her to say...when do they usually start talking? My other question is this...she does this weird dance where she will get real low and her eyes will flash...her wings are kinda lifted (not spread out) while she does and she will also stretch her body long ...I had an IRN that was 20 yrs.old and he would do that with our guinea pig (his best friend) and I always thought that it was some kinda love mating type dance....well Bobbers has been doing this for a few months and I just don't see her being old enough for that...can anybody tell me why they do this? Thank you for reading. This is the only site I go to for information because you can tell these birds are family members to everybody not just pets.

Hey I'm new to owning an IRN but i can say that my bird gene (5 months) does the same thing, If i get him a seed or i pet him a special way he pins his eyes lowers his back and makes a cute chirping sound, but he's always content and happy afterwards so i doubt its a bad thing.

As for the talking i talk to my bird every day for long periods while teaching him tricks, He doesn't talk but sometimes i hear him experimenting with different sounds and chirping so maybe he's trying to learn? does you're bird ever get vocal?

Also, I've read they only really start talking properly once they've finished maturing, I could be wrong though, Still a newbie.

Bobbers is always happy with her dance routine..I get the feeling she is trying to sneek up on the object she is dancing at...it always makes me laugh...Bobbers favorite place is the bathroom..I am guessing because it kinda echoes...I have heard a few vocal sounds so I am hoping she talks soon...I can't wait to find out if Bobbers is male or female...I have an amazing amount of fun with her...its like having a destructive toddler sometimes....I call it the puppy phase...lol...she always has to be ding something and cannot get too bored...lol
