hi again everyone,
ive just got me first babies after 4 years or so,

the cock is blue the hen is grey...

all three babies are grey.

i have checked all the breeding charts and its double dutch to me.

is the mutations like cockatiels...does that mean because all babies are grey they are all male like cockatiel breeding or can they be different even though there same colour?

and does this mean all babies will always be grey?

no not all babies will be grey,and not just males will be grey. grey is a blue series bird so over the life time of breeding a blue to a grey will produce 50 % blue and 50% grey babies

Unless of coarse the hen is a Double Factor Grey, then all young would be Grey. One round would be too early to confirm this. Knowing what her parents were may help to tell as well.

yes thats right if both parents were grey it's possible to get double factor grey ,single factor grey ,and blue babies and there is no way of telling the df from the sf birds without breeding them. so if the next few clutches produce all grey babies it's safe to say it'a a df bird
