We are from Portugal, and the reason we register here its quiet simple, there is no speciallized fórum from ring necks ... and there we go .

Just got a 7 weeks ring neck, a beautifull green one , cant post the photo cause it is saying i am a spammer... anyway problem is ... he is at the Bluff "momment" of his life, and done something weird.. he opens his beak and put tonge out, like he was open his mouth of sleep ( dont know english word ) ...

and he just fly for the 1st time ever...

know ... he is at the bad boy, i bite everything and everyone momment....

Hello,

7 weeks old would mean that your baby is not fully weaned as yet and maybe the behaviour is his wanting to be fed. The other issue may be that your baby (if fledged (flying)) already is infact 10 weeks or more old and therefore weaned and is scared of you. Was the bird hand raised ? or from the parent nest .. You do need to give the bird a few weeks to get use to his new surroundings, maybe keep him in his cage more than out and have him in an area where the people in the house are, so he can get use to you and the noises around him, getting him out for short periods of time. Bluffing doesn't usually start until alot later.

Please tell us a bit more, like if the bird was hand raised or parent raised.

Hello ,

Well he was hand raise , i got him directly from the poultry farm...
He is when we spend must of the time, so he can accustom to us .

He eats the seeds without problems and wont accept the porridge he used to eat when was baby
( hope i can make my self clear :s )

I know that one of his brother, is having same problem .... so... guess its that bluff phase going on ...
