Hi all!

I am from the UK. I have a pair fo IRN (Bubble and squeek!) and they will constant snuggle up to each other, They are on a diet of fresh fruit/veg daily and large parakeet mix, They have a bowl with honey in and also a bowl with some calcium sand in and also a cuttle fish. they have a bath which is filled with rain water and they drink from a bottle.

They live in a 3X10 foot aviary which is fully sheltered on 3 sides and is alongside an aviary with a few budgies in which are breeding.

They have 3 nest boxes (2 north facing and 1 south facing) but they have not really shown any interest in them. I have put them in them before (Caught them and put them in) and they will stay for a period of time but they never go back in.
What am I doin wrong to get them to breed or even show an interest in breeding???

just let them be they breed seasonly not like other birds that breed all year long and usually breed only once in that time unless babies are pulled and hand fed the breeding season is very late winter until late spring or early summer

Is that breeding season for the UK as our winters are very cold and usually below freezing. They therefore come indoors as they are not hardy birds at all.

What sort of climate do they tend to breed in, They went out about March time which was cold but not frost or freezing and they coped very well then. They came in in December but never showed any signs of wanting to breed.

Are your winters/springs relatively warm or cooler and therefore may equate to our spring/autumn?

I have only put them in the box by catching them when i have had to catch them for another reason!
As said previously, I am new to all this so am learning every time!
