Jealousy Problems

Hi everyone,

I have been lurking for awhile and wish to get some answers for my irn. He, the irn (soon to be a yr), is very jealous over my female 6 yr old 'tiel.
He wants to be around her constantly (from a distance - see where she is at all times, likes to see what shes doing, eating etc... and I'm full aware that if he can kill her and having trouble dealing with these issues. Any support!

My tiel seems to have developed issues over this - she has taken to cheeping all day and just came off of a long egg-laying - she doesn't seem to want anything in particular - how do tell if he is really bothering her?

The irn also has some screaming issues - he blabbers all day getting loud and quiet, the only thing that seems to help is a quiet shhhhh! A few minutes later and he's back at it. Should I just ignore it - how do people teach recalls (how i know he'll really want me)! I am finding that hard living in an apartment. Any suggestions!

Lastly, I have been Clicker-training and it has seemed to help my relationship with the irn, I'm trying to convince my husband to do the same. My husband is the caregiver during the day for both birds and i do weekend and nights.

I love both birds and want to keep both birds, but these issues are getting harder to deal with each day.

how close are their cages together? Have you tried letting them play together? If so how do they react to each other. They might want to be with each other.

My ringnecks and my cockatiels got along very well together. My Green IRN Kiva LOVES cockatiels and even started to speak cockatiel. He follows the cockatiel around and does his fancy male dance. The cockatiel isnt at all interested.

Cockatiel hens lay eggs regardless. I had a cockatiel hen lay and incubate eggs on the floor. Unfortunatly she didnt feed her chick so I had to. Chibi (formerly known as bubblegut) is still with us, I'll post pics later, he got a bit scruffy so I'm waiting for him to look pretty again.

The best way to teach recall is to have their favourite treat handy. My birds go nuts for apple. It's an awesome experience when your bird flies to you. You know it wants to be with you then because it can so easily choose to be somewhere else.

IRNs chatter alot this is normal, How i wish there was a volume control on these things but there isnt, The best way to deal with it is to try and teach your bird to vocalise something else.
