hi all, well i may have posted before when i got my first irn - he or shes name is Toolie. IVE RECENTLY AQUIRED A NEW IRN, THE BREEDER DID SAY IT WAS ABOUT 4 TO 5 MONTHS OLD, BUT I DOUBT IT, IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ANY ONE TO TAKE A LOOK, AND ESTIMATE THE BIRDS ACTUAL AGE?? I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT. WE NAMED HIM SCRUFFY, COS AS U CAN SEE , HE LOOKS A BIT RUFFELD UP, ALMOST LIKE A BIRD THAT HAS COME OUT OF WAR.

Welcome Faheem, :-) Its not really possible to tell the age of a bird by sight, the only thing you can be sure of is if a ring starts coming in the bird is approx 12 - 36 months old (more likely 24 months on average). Or if the bird is very young around 10 weeks just fledged or younger, other than that you cannot tell and cannot have them tested for age either. Did you post a picture somewhere ?
