whats the best thing to put under a birds cage?

We put disposable painting sheets that we throw away once a week/fortnight. You can sweep them in between times if you want to. We buy them from our local super hardware store for about $2 each. We put newspaper to line the bottom of the cage. The painting sheet covers the area under their cage and their gym.
