I have been hand raising my first baby birds for the past few weeks as my mates green male and blue female IRN had two babies and didn't have the time to do it. They are about 6 weeks old one blue and one green. 'Peeper' the blue baby has found a new home but I fell in love with 'Kokoda' the green baby and had to keep him, this site is very helpful with everything I need to know. There are a few things I would like to know more about, if anyone has the time to provide some insight that would be great.

- Kokoda was bred from a green male and blue female, he is a beautiful shade of green, under his wings is black and yellow and his tail is quite blue, are these common traits of green IRN's?
- I have been hand feeding Kokoda for the last 4-5weeks and decided to try him on fruits and vegies, in just a few days he is now on one feed a day and seems to hate the hand rearing food and only wants to eat the solids, is this normal? Should he be doing this at such a young age?

From when I got them to just a week ago, roughly 5 weeks old.

To Kokoda today, around 6-7 weeks, they grow way to fast :)
