hello my name is Tom and I have decided to take part in keeping a pair of indian ringnecks. about a month ago i acquired two 5 week old blue and aqua/green IRN's and have since been amazed at these animals and there abilities and sheer beauty and character. love the forum soo far but I do have one question to ask!
I have been told that if i plan to keep taming up these birds and socializing them to remove them from one another (separate them) to avoid the birds becoming wild to quickly and loosing there tricks and tameness?
is this true or are my two feathered freinds going to be alright to be buddies!?

I have heard the same thing. It is absolutely okay for them to be buddies and play together. However you may develop a better relationship with them if they are CAGED separately with time out to play together and socialize. Birds that are overbonded to one another are more difficult for you to bond with individually.

Whilst that is true that they can be more difficult to tame together, I believe that it is healthier for your bird to have a companion of its own kind. Are your birds already tame? I keep m two together although I had one and got the second a year later. They are bonded to each other & like to spend time with us. It means that they are more engaged when we aren't at home than if they were a lone bird. So my belief is that although it is harder to work with two, it is not impossible & overall it's better for the bird.

Others will be sure to disagree with me and that's ok but I just wanted to present my opinion.

Also, if you get them to forage for their food it will make them easier to tame as getting treats from you will become the easiest way to get food.
