Remmi seems to be like flipping or snapping his wings every once in a while when I'm holding him. It's hard to describe, but it's like he's snapping his wings-one and then the other. Any ideas why he might be doing this?

Baby does that too sometimes.
I always chocked it up to her being happy to be on my hand and displaying her talents lol.
OH! I forgot, I was feeling better the other day and took pics of her taking her FIRST bath without Mommie. I have always had to do it for her.
She was doing the FUNNIEST, craziest things. Imma try to past them now while the brats opps hehe kids sleep.
Did I say that outloud?

I have three birds, one albino IRN, a cockatiel and Ruby the Eclectus. Now, Ruby has a history (as do many ekkies) for toe tapping and wing flipping; a lot of the time it is a reaction to certain foods; her's however is a reaction to smells and perfumes. How much of a problem is this with IRNs? I've only heard of it being an issue with ekkies and sometimes african grays, but when I saw this topic, it got me thinking so I thought I'd ask. Thanks.

yep that something I have seen both Kai and Jordan do.. I feel .. but I really have no idea.. I feel that it is when they are content and are getting perfect placement of their wings so they can settle down for a while. (Its a really quick, very sharp flick of the wing)

Hi Jen, Im glad you raised this topic as I too have been trying to conclude why my IRN does this. I have noticed that he'll do this it after an activity for which he'll not show any other signs of enjoyment nor annoyance. However I am beginning to lean more towards the fact that this is a sign of pleasure although its not being backed up with another sign of pleasure, like a purr or pinning. He tends to do it after things he enjoyed....I think!?
It would be interesting to see what others think?
